These terms should be included with the field trip vocabulary list for those students coming to the “Artifact Adventure” activity.

Archaeology- The scientific study of past cultures by analyzing artifacts and monuments.

Artifact- An object made or modified by people.

Primary Source- Original documents and objects which were created at the time under study.

Secondary Source- Accounts or interpretations of events created by someone without firsthand experience.

Hypothesis- An explanation or interpretation that can be tested by further investigation.
